Internet Celebrity?

It’s really funny how the blogosphere has created an entirely new world of celebrity. There are some very widely known people within a very tightly knit circle. I feel like pretty much everyone who blogs knows the important bloggers, but a large portion of the bloggers who aren’t on Livejournal or Myspace, or whatever social service are actually known. Our names show up on Google, you know?

For example, in April, if you Googled “Jason Preston” (sans quotes), you wouldn’t find my name anywhere. I was internet non-existent, despite the fact that Jason-Preston.com has been an active page for me for the past three and a half years. A couple months later, thanks to my blogging (it’s true! Google loves blogs!), if you google “Jason Preston” I’m four out of the top five hits.

I feel like a celebrity ;)

ps. I’d feel like way more of a celebrity if anyone actually read this blog.
