Birds
I got up yesterday morning and saw this bird outside my window, and it looked different to me with its really long tail, so I took a picture and sent it to my Dad.[Image removed — original hosted on WordPress]
My Dad has always been interested in birdwatching, and keeps a record of all the birds he’s seen in one of those birdwatcher diaries. I thought this might be something new, since I didn’t recognize it (admittedly I don’t know too much about birds, and probably wouldn’t recognize it even if I had seen it before).
He e-mailed me back today, though, and apparently the bird is a Black-Billed Magpie, found in “woodland, farmland, moorland, parks and gardens - though they prefer grassland with thick hedges or scattered trees.”
Apparently it’s also found in North America, and he’s seen it in Colorado already. I’d like to manage to get a picture of a bird over here that he hasn’t already seen, though.
