My (horrible) memory...
In all honesty, I have a horrible memory. I do well enough with appointments, schedules, and sometime even names…but ideas? things i need to do? groceries? Not a chance. Or more relevantly, things I’d like to blog about.
I’m one of those people that gets about 40 new ideas every hour, and most of them are either one-liners or crap. But they’re all really exciting for about three minutes, or they seem like things I could expand on with just a little bit of thought.
As a result, my class notes are filled not with anything the professor has said, but little notes in the margins on all sorts of discussion ideas or random thoughts that occur to me while I’m listening to the lecture. I just fished a receipt out of my pocket which says, no joke:
Days of physical media are drawing to a close.
Greg C’s new indie games co (Flicker)
EDV Film Library: Blade Runner!
Loudspeaker / screen of propoganda for the “evil” side
Planets in Sci-Fi are always one climate!
Some of those I’ve posted on. Some of those are things I need to do, and some of those I’ll probably scrape something together to write about in the future. But it’s amazing to me how quickly they’ll leave my mind, even if I write them down. I remember as soon as I read the notes, of course, but I must have the idea attention-span of…of…something very short.
Ps. The key to good humor is good metaphor, and I have emphatically failed to do that here.
