Mr. Bernanke
Bush has Nominated Mr. Bernanke to Succeed Greenspan at the Fed.
I’m dense enough have missed Greenspan’s planned retirement on January 31st, but I’m pretty happy with his replacement nomination. Greenspan has done a good job (judging by the evidence) of keeping the economy afloat since 1987, when he took office. From the Times article, it sounds as though Bernanke plans to continue the general policies set out by Greenspan in the near future, and anyway, he come highly respected in his field.
In economics, that’s about all you can ask of someone.
