Space Piss

The general knowledge, as I understand it, is that the amount of water on Earth has remained exactly the same throughout the eons of its existence. Despite the fact that things evaporate, we drink water, and we’re always on the verge of a disastrous dry spell, none of it has actually ever disappeared.

But…when we send astronauts out into space, don’t they eject their “human waste” into the big black nether of the beyond? Aren’t they sending precious Earth moisture off, never to be seen again?

I think the danger inherent in the race to commercialize space is not, as many suspect, the national security risks it will undoubtedly expose, but rather the rapid expulsion of all of Earth’s water. In the form of space piss.
