Bye bye IMDB?
Unfortunately, as the Internet Movie Database becomes more and more mature in the online world, their data is becoming harder and harder to find. I think they might be a little trapped in some older web architecture that’s keeping them from moving forward the way they should be. They might also be caught up in IMDB pro, which is the paid service.
For whatever reason, I’ve been trying to look up box office data as well as information on the production companies for various movies for a paper I’m writing. The first kind of data is hard to get to, the second kind seems basically impossible.
Surprisingly, Hollywood.com seems to have all that info conveniently placed on the respective movie’s information page. They’re also cool enough to have a few blogs, and buttons at the bottom of their pages allowing you to “tag this” or “blog this.”
Awesome. I have a new movie database.
