The wrong response
I was watching Boys N the Hood for my film class yesterday when I realized that I often get completely incorrect emotional responses to scenes.
For example, at some point in the movie, there’s an important, disheartening death scene where someone dies. Right before he does, he buys a lotto ticket and scratches it off. From then on out, all I could think about was “did he win?”
We never found out.
Although I would recommend seeing the movie, it’s a damn good one. I’d never seen it all in one sitting until yesterday, but I’m glad I finally got the chance.
