They done good
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is my favorite of the four movies. I think that, aside from the increasingly mismatched ages of the lead characters to the lead actors, Goblet of Fire outshines the rest in terms of, well, movieness.
What I mean is that it’s finally more of a complete movie than a film trying to mimic the book — it skips things and rushes things and makes a few things a bit more overt than they were in the original text, but that’s film. In the end, it’s good fun.
It also, for some reason, REALLY made me want the next movie to be out sometime next week. I want movie number five already, damnit!
Also also, I’m definitely beginning to like the new Dumbledore. Richard Harris was, of course, unbelievably awesome — but Michael Gambon is probably a better choice for the upcoming events anyways.
