Viral issues
Because I’m a reasonably nice guy, when people ask me to edit their papers I tend to say “sure.”
Unforutnately, writing papers over here for most people means grabbing one of the available forty or fifty public computers on campus and typing away in whatever version of Word they can find, sitting through the various inconveniences necessitated by the fact that they all run Internet Explorer 4 on Windows 2000.
It wasn’t until a few days ago that I realized I probably have about eighteen viruses from opening those Word documents.
Unfortunately, however, the proxy server that Sussex University has set up automatically blocks my virus utilities from accessing their internet virus databases, making my most recent data from August…probably not the best.
They really need to get on top of things here.
