YouTube

The other day, when I posted the video from my trip to Barcelona, I didn’t have time to really snoop around the internet and look up the kind of video service that I wanted to find for my blog. What I’d like to do is offer a video window for people to stream, rather than having to actually download and open a video file from a boring text link.

It looks like YouTube is a service that lets you to just that. Eventually, I’m sure, I’ll end up streaming all my video content from my own webspace, especially since CrystalTech just upped my monthly bandwidth to 50GB, but for now this looks like a cool alternative.

It looks like its set up almost the same way FlickR is, except for video. You have a profile and your own videos, as well as an interface that encourages you to view other people’s videos (unlike, say, Google Video). I’ll let you guys know how it works, and the next time I have a video, you won’t have to download it to watch it.
