Flock: one step more
I just downloaded and installed the “somewhere between alpha and beta” version of Flock, available on their site. It’s a new browser that is basically built on top of the Firefox code.
It’s basically a browser based on the question: what if the coolest firefox extensions were browser features?
On download, this browswer is not only pretty, but fairly full-featured. It imported my settings successfully from Firefox, and it has a set of “topbar” options that are really cool.
I’m writing this entry from a built-in blogging tool that works a lot like performancing. It also comes with a FlickR photo browsing and uploading tool. It also looks like they’ve done something cool with bookmarks (favorites) where they’re somehow stored online so you can retrieve them from any computer.
It’s also pretty cool looking, which for me is always a plus.
I’m curious to see what happens especially when this browser reaches full-public beta stage. For now, I suppose I’m doomed to use three browsers at once, each with their own appeal.
