Two notes on WIRED

1. For a long time I’ve made the habit of checking the WIRED News page for cool and interesting stories, and it was one of the first things I added to my start page. Unfortunately, in the past month or so they must have been bought by Lycos, because there’s an amazingly ugly Lycos bar on the top of the page which pisses me off to no end, and looks horrible to boot.

And although I applaud Wired for embracing blogs as the publishing tools they are, the front page of Wired News is where I want to find your daily or weekly columnists’ offerings, not your blog entries. It used to be I’d find a few worthwhile articles every day, and now they’re merely posts that rotate far too quickly to be worthwile.

2. The April issue of WIRED (the mag), which I may go pick up on the stands, is guest-edited by Will Wright, and all about games. Way cool.
