Watching Star Wars

I’m halfway through watching the Empire Strikes Back for the first time in at least a year, and it’s the first of the old Star Wars movies I’ve seen since I watched Episode III.

I forgot how incredibly good they are.

The witty dialogue is actually witty…the characters are actually developed…and everything on the screen doesn’t look plastic (although, ironically, I bet there’s a lot more plastic in the old movies). Watching Empire reminded me of this wonderful post from about a year ago: Yoda doesn’t have legs.

The difference between the prequels and the trilogy is so amazingly huge that it makes me want to cry.
