My Star Wars policy

Yesterday I was flipping through one of my favorite magazines, PC Gamer, when I noticed a serious problem that has recently shown up in pop culture: there are three new Star Wars movies.

Even more problematic, they are, against all intuitive reasoning, the first three Star Wars movies.

I read in horror as the unforutnate article was forced to stumble over the phrase “Darth Vader circa Star Wars Episode IV,” just to make a joke. This is really pretty unacceptable, especially since there was once a time when “Darth Vader” would have simply spoken for itself.

Since Star Wars is, for better or worse, inextricably tied in to our pop-culture souls, this problem has to be dealt with. I’m going to do my part by establishing a Star Wars policy for this blog:

Unless otherwise noted, any STAR WARS reference should be taken to mean either

  1. **Episode IV: A New Hope (Star Wars)
    **

  2. Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

  3. Episode VI: The Return of the Jedi

And I’ll never explicitly ruin either of those plot twists. You know, those ones. Just in case a small child is ever reading my blog.
