The Derby

[Image removed]Today is Kentucky Derby day, the first of the triple crown races, and probably the most famous. I always try to watch the triple crown, although I haven’t really followed horse racing this year very much. Just glancing over the entrants and statistics it looks like Brother Derek or Lawyer Ron are the current favorites, despite their bad post position.

I also don’t remember past Derby’s having 20 entrants…I seem to remember it staying at least under 16 most years. This is a big race, and the bigger the race, the more random the whole thing gets.

A lot of people say it will never happen again (and for some good reasons), but I would like to see another triple crown horse show up.
