The "blog bounce"
I’m going to steal the term from Jason Calacanis and Weblogs Inc in the hopes that it’s actually talking about our own statistics at Flicker:
Note: the spike and dip is totally normal for a new blog as we welcome a blog to the network from our other blogs. You don’t see that on the two above because we added sitemeter three or four days after they launched—they had the spike and dip too. In another month or two you’ll see the traffic reach the day one traffic—we call this the “blog bounce” inside of WIN.
When we launched Flicker last wendesday, we started out with over 500 pageviews and almost 200 visits, which is a pretty solid start, but we’ve dipped drastically since then.

I’m not sure what causes this - obviously one or two of our ads have stopped running, but our content is still moving strong. I’m hoping it’s the “blog bounce,” and that we’ll be able to get back on our feet pretty soon.
