Social tagging is my friend

I wrote up an awesome article on how to run TIE Fighter in Windows XP today and posted it to Flicker, then I submitted the article to Digg, hoping that it would strike the right kind of nerve and drive some traffic to the site.

Boy was I right.

I was driving up I-5 all day, so unfortunately I couldn’t watch the process in real time, but my article has over 830 diggs after today, 70-odd comments in digg, and 12 on our site.

Remember when I showed you the sitemeter yesterday? Well our little bounce is basically invisible now:

It’s too bad we didn’t really have much new content hit the site today, because I would really like to retain even a fraction of this traffic.

Our RSS feed didn’t get any new subscribers, as far as I could tell, so my guess is that this isn’t going to be a well-maintained spike. But every little bit helps - we just need to keep coming out with awesome content like this!
