Two good reasons

One of the little amusements I find in life is asking people about why they make trivial decisions (like what wrist they wear their watch on) and then listen to the answers they tend to make up on the fly. Very rarely do people tell me “honestly…I dunno. No reason.”

So most of the time I get to hear silly little reasons ranging from “It’s what I always did” to “I’m fighting the social norm.” But recently two of my friends gave me two good reasons for how they do shit:

Kendra Dority, on why she raised her bed: It makes you feel like a kid again to have to climb up into bed.

Spencer Grager, on why his watch is on his right wrist (he’s right-handed): He thought that if he was ever a secret agent, and captured by the enemy, they would foolheartedly assume that he was left-handed, at which point he could take advantage of their ignorance and escape.
