Syndicated Stealing
One of the funny things about everything on Fred Wilson’s Internet Axis of Evil is that they’re also all landmarks of success in their own odd ways.
In other words, if you’re getting spammed and stolen from, it means you’re on the map. Flicker’s on the map - we’ve been victims of Really Simple Stealing for a while now, although from very polite and friendly thiefs. I’m not going to link to them.
I’ve been waiting it out because the inbound links will help our google PageRank, and to see if we get any real boost from the re-syndication, but so far it doesn’t look like it’s driving much traffic our way, so I’ll probably ask them to cut it out pretty soon.
A network is one thing, but it annoys me that people go around stealing content and pasting ads all over it for revenue. It makes me wonder who the hell reads those instead of the original sites.
