Scarface thoughts
I know that I’m one of the few people who didn’t particularly like Scarface, but damnit, it just wasn’t that enjoyable. It was the story of some asshole drug dealer who did excessively excessive things and did them in ridiculous ways and none of it was particularly interesting (except for the bath tub scene…that was interesting).
Anyways I ran across a bit from TheFerrett on Tony Montana which makes me feel all jealous that I couldn’t say it:
Tony Montana, from Scarface.
Hmm. A thuggish brute rises to power because he’s so thuggish that no one can get in his way, then dies to his own excess. There was absolutely nothing about Tony Montana I admired ââ¬â he wasn’t particularly bright or cunning, he was obsessed and greedy, and in an ideal world this would be seen as a warning to people about not to be this asshole. But alas, apparently the culture looks at what Tony got as opposed to what he is.I know, I know, he dies horribly. But not horribly enough. I want a Naked Gun-style horrific death, where he gets shot, and falls off a balcony, and run over by a tractor, and then caught on the end of the tractor and dragged through a nettle field, and then I punch him until he dies.
