Funny writing

Between my screenwriting class, two personal book projects, and several blogs, I do a fair amount of writing.

I have always, and probably will always, want to be a funny writer. I like making people laugh, because laughter is basically the most honest reaction you’ll ever get from anyone (besides fear, but nobody likes being scary). Unfortunately I’m no good at funny writing.

Scott Adams is:

I’m wondering what kind of career you can have after you tell everyone that you’re a pedophile child killer but it turns out that you’re really only a liar, at least about the killing part. And you’re so incompetent that you can’t even successfully go to jail. I think the answer is obvious:

He will run for Congress.

Maybe someday I’ll find the magic chicken nugget of humor, and suddenly I’ll write funny. That’ll be a happy day.
