Deal shopping and buying on credit

It’s Sunday, so I’m not going to bother blogging about anything that’s incredibly on-topic. Today’s thoughtlessness: deal shopping.

I’m such a deal shopper. I’m pretty sure I actually enjoy my purchases more if I get a good deal on them. This is why I tend to “want things” for a solid month or two before I ever end up buying them. I wait and look for good deals.

I was pretty excited when my friend told me today that you can buy refurbished Macs from Apple. That’s pretty cool - it looks like you get to knock off about $400 - $500 from the original retail price, and you get a computer that, honestly, is just as good as a new one.

So now I’m waiting for the new core 2 duo Macbook Pros to make it into the refurbished lineup. Of course if they don’t, I can always use my educational discount, but that’s not nearly as big.

Also, I don’t like to buy things in “$34 per month” packages. Either I can afford it, and I buy it in full, or I can’t, and I don’t buy it. I know that’s not how it works, but I feel like that’s being smart.
