Free NYT TimesSelect contet via podcast
While I was poking around in the free week of TimesSelect (which was actually a really cool advertising idea), I noticed that the NYT offers a podcast reading of their TimesSelect author’s columns.
Now, I’m pretty sure that as it stands, RSS/XML doesn’t carry any sort of security gateway that stops be from accessing the content without a username and password, so I added the podcast feed for Thomas Friedman to my iTunes podcast list, and I’ve been getting an audio version of his column for free ever since.
The feed for the podcast is this:
http://www.nytimes.com/services/xml/rss/nyt/podcasts/friedman.xml
I’m pretty sure that you can simply use any TimesSelect author’s last name at the end of that link to get the podcast for their column.
It probably won’t take the Times too long to nerf this little loophole, but go ahead and get it while the gettin’s good.
