Hanging out at the Wii launch party

[Image: wii launch]Nintendo and associated interested parties were holding a Wii launch party at Universal City walk, which included a live DJ, a few short interviews with gaming mucky-mucks, and a host of playable Wii stations set up around the Hard Rock Cafe area.

I stopped in for a while, got a cool hat, and got to play around with some of the games. That means that yes, I did officially get to play the Wii before it came out. Goal accomplished, if only by a few hours.

I was hoping to meet up with Andy of GamerAndy.com, but somehow we never caught up with each other, although he’s been doing some coverage of his own, so I know he made it.

My roommate, bless his heart, is sleeping in line at Target tonight so that we may Wii to our heart’s content come 8 or 9 am in the morning, whenever he gets back with the goods.

All I can say is that I am very much looking forward to Wii Sports.
