Do you want a free $7500 PC or a $600 PS3?

[Image: pcg podcast]Well, unless you’re an idiot, you’ll take the former. There’s a pretty well known axiom that with technology, you get what you pay for, which totally applies unless you’re winning something awesome.

As a reminder that the PC is gaming king to everyone who got all hot and bothered (or shot) over console releases, this last week’s PC Gamer Video Podcast is straight up brilliant.

The PC Gamer team got FalconNW to donate a massively powerful gaming rig (blows PS3 hardware out of the water, plus it comes with a 30-inch flat-panel monitor with double 1080p capabilities), and they’re giving it away to one of the very first people in line for the PS3 launch in San Francisco…if they sign a legally binding and notarized contract never to buy a PS3.

Let the games begin.

I particularly like the moment about 7 minutes in, when the super intern pops in for a moment and everything gets really awkward. I feel yah Norman Chan, I been there myself. Hooray awkward moments.

I also like that PCG is running their podcast and video podcast via Wordpress.
