Canon support
I should be getting my camera (it’s a PowerShot SD400, and it’s awesome) back on monday or tuesday, which I broke in Germany several months ago.
This is the second time I’ve had to send this camera in to get it reparied within the past year.
But Canon support has this cool service wehre you go to their site and enter your product serial number, and they’ll open a service ticket for you and tell you whether or not you’re within warranty.
Now i’m pretty sure that my warranty does not technically cover “dropping your camera while running like a frightened child from a bee,” but they didn’t ask, so I didn’t push the point.
The site informed me that repairing the cracked LCD would be free of charge, would I please mail it to the repair facility.
So I did, and they repaired it for free. Both times.
That’s some pretty awesome service.
