An exercise in Mac vs PC
Since I bought this MacBook Pro in December, I’ve been using it basically full time for school, work, writing, and other things that generally fall into the category of “work.”
My desktop I’ve reserved exclusively for “fun” - which means video games, video, and music. This way I get to keep a nice, hopefully proactive setup for getting things done, and I can mess around with my gaming rig without fear of interrupting things that need to get done.
It’s also let me use a Mac a whole bunch, and just for fun, I’m going to make a quick list of things (off the top of my head) that I think the Mac does better than a PC, and a list of things that I think the PC does better than the Mac.
MAC
- better power management
- better keyboard (backlit)
- better memory management (fewer restarts required)
- better at dealing with frequent standby/use
PC
- crashes less often (empirically true for me!)
- better compatibility with mobile devices
- more free software available
- better at system updates & driver rollbacks
