What's fun about Twitter is what's fun about blogging

I’ve posted before about not understanding why people like Twitter. I thought it was a little bit trendy and a little bit overblown.

I think I was right about both of those things, because you don’t hear nearly as much about it now, but I was wrong about it not being fun. It’s fun because you get to talk to people, which is the whole point of blogging, web whatever-point-oh, social networking, and generally being human.

Some RSS feed of what you’re doing isn’t really that great in and of itself. But when you realize that it’s a big shared aggregate of people watching what other people are saying, then getting to respond…well that’s pretty cool.
