Sometime I worry that I'm getting dumber

I don’t know about you but I spend a fair amount of time worrying that I’m getting dumber because I don’t regularly do intelligent things every day.

Sure, I show aptitude and ability, but in mind those are somewhat different than perception and intelligence (and no it’s not because of RPGs). It has to do with the ability to sift through metaphors and meanings, or to analyze a bit of Dickinson poetry (believe me: not easy).

This is the type of thing that I was once able to do in a one-hour test period. If sat down with some Dickinson now I’d be lucky if at the end I had any bones left.

Do you ever worry that your getting dumber, or is that just me?
