Without the scare tactics? Really?
I thought this was a funny juxtaposition in my inbox today:
Hello,
Online safety is more important than even. The reason is simple: The threats faced by minors are more serious than ever. Cyberbullying tops the list.
According to a study by the Pew Internet & American Life Project, one-third of teens claim to have experienced cyberbullying. It can take on extreme and dangerous dimensions, such as the case in which an adult masqueraded as a young boy on MySpace to bully a 13-year-old girl. The young girl eventually committed suicide. The mother of one of her classmates will stand trial in Los Angeles on charges related to the incident. She faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
How can parents and others teach children to experience the positive side of the Internet while avoiding the negative?
Thatââ¬â¢s what Internet safety experts Linda Criddle and Tori Case will discuss on a special panel at CES. ââ¬ÅInternet Safety Without the Scare Tacticsââ¬Â will be held on January 9th
And what were the previous three paragraphs?
