Bringing Cool People Together

I’m planning to attend Seattle Startup Drinks tonight. It’s been a while since I’ve had the time to get myself out to many of the shindigs that are happening all over Seattle all the time, and frankly I miss it.

There are a lot of cool people in Seattle doing a lot of cool things.

One of the takeaways from running parties of all different sizes over the past few years (for work) is that if you bring the right crowd together, most of the other details don’t matter as much as you think they do. If you’re putting a mixer together, the first thing you should do is find a few people that need to attend, and make sure you accommodate them. Any venue will do, any crowd will not.

Seattle is good at pulling a fun crowd together for drinks. I don’t know if it’s the weather that makes us all a little unhinged, but it’s a very vibrant community and I’m excited to catch up with people tonight.
