YouTube in my Car
I live in Seattle and work in Redmond (I’m the one guy who works in Redmond, but not for Microsoft), which means that I spend about an hour and a half in my car every day.
I’ve developed a rotation of audio entertainment for my car, which goes through phases: cycling the radio stations, listening to books on tape from Audible.com, converting text news stories to audio in the morning and listening to the news on my way in to work, and of course - digging up my old CDs, or streaming music from my media center to my iPhone.
This morning I discovered a new, potentially bottomless source of “morning drive” entertainment: YouTube. It turns out that my iPhone’s 3G connection is more than sufficient to stream the bazillions of panels, movies, clips, series, and otherwise useless entertainment on YouTube that is primarily audio anyway.
Sweet.
