OwnLocal aims to resurrect newspaper revenues

The startupâs products include a Local Hero business directory, a daily deals tool, a web building tool, a print-to-web advertisement conversion tool and a game creation tool (which uses game mechanics to engage newspaper customers).

Nothing short of a brilliant business. Introducing these revenue streams as bolt-on platforms to small newspapers is a great thing to do, plus it is a great business model: create money where previously there was none, and take a slice of it.
